School Team Tennis 2017
Team Tennis began in Shreveport in 2001. Presently, there are 15 schools participating in the Tennis Program, with about 300 youth who played team tennis in 2016.
Who may participate? Any public or private school. Simply ask your school if we can schedule a meeting to organize a team at your school.
Who runs the league? Querbes Tennis Center organizes & runs the league. The league is a parent-driven league, similar to little league baseball. We have some teachers at select schools who help coordinate the league.
What levels are available? We have ALL levels available: from beginner to tournament.
Are Team Lessons Available? While the league is only for play, there are lessons at all facilities in the Shreveport/Bossier area. A lesson day will be provided for players and parents of children signed up. Parents are encouraged to participate to learn the sport of tennis with their child.
When & where do they play? Play will be in the afternoon Monday through Saturday at Querbes Tennis Center. The school team tennis league will begin Feb 13, 2017.
What are the costs involved? League fees are $50 per person. (NOTE: USTA membership NOT necessary for play in 2017)
How do we begin? Contact Robert Verzaal at Querbes Tennis Center (318) 673-7787. All registrations are made through Querbes Tennis Center (3507 Beverly Pl, Shreveport, La. 71104). More information may be found at Querbes or online at www.QuerbesTennisCenter.com.
