Championship Series

Player Guidelines

  • USTA Rules of Tennis and the “Code” as published in Friends at Court will apply.
  • Entry fee is $30 per person for the 1st division and $25 per person for the 2nd division, due by the Tuesday before the tournament
  • Players may only play in one gender division and one mixed division (i.e. one Women’s and one Mixed or one Men’s and one Mixed; not 2 Women’s, 2 Men’s nor 2 Mixed).
  • Please submit player registration at the site of the tournament.   There is not an option to register online.  All entrants MUST be current USTA members and use their current NTRP rating. Entering teams may only have a 1.0 spread between individual ratings to play (i.e. a 3.5 may play with a 2.5 but a 4.0 cannot play with a 2.5).
  • Deadline to enter is 6 PM Tuesday. Draws will be posted by 4 PM on the Thursday prior to the tournament. NO special times permitted. The tournament will start no earlier than 6 PM on Friday.
  • Individual partner’s cumulative points will be used for the seeding at all tournaments, except in the first tournament where there will be no seeding.
  • A draw of 3 or 4 will be a round robin format. In a regular draw of 5 or more teams, there will be consolation for first match losers. All matches will use the 10 point tie breaker for the 3rd set EXCEPT the finals in the Main Draw and Round Robin format draws.
  • Both teams must have a new can of tennis balls prior to the start of the match. The winning team takes the unopened can of tennis balls and the losing team takes the used tennis balls.
  • Prizes will be awarded to Main Draw winners and finalists, consolation winners and winners of the round robin format at each tournament.
  • Individuals will accumulate points for each of the tournaments and ALL POINTS will go towards the Masters. At the conclusion of the series, the top eight (8) teams of each division will be invited to participate in the CTA Shreveport/Bossier Championship Series Masters event.  Players must select a partner that they have played with in that division for at least one series tournament event to apply for the Masters.  Both partners MUST have participated in at least 2 series events in order to qualify for the masters event.  The total points accrued between the two partners will determine if that team qualifies in the top 8 for entrance in the masters. The 8 top teams with the most cumulative points will qualify for the masters event.
