November 28 Querbes Tennis Center Update

The Northwest Louisiana CTA Querbes Tennis Center Committee met on November 28, 2018 with Shreveport Parks and Recreation (SPAR) representatives. We were informed that a contract was sent out on November 27th, to be signed and processed by the company that is being awarded the contract. Finalizing this should be done within 2-3 weeks at most. The contract covers all work needed on the soft courts which includes; resurfacing the courts, new fencing, curbs, watering system, and net posts. A separate contract for the ADA compliant lift to the second floor is also being prepared. Construction work continues to the inside of the building to make it ADA compliant. They are behind schedule due to unforeseen issues with the concrete structure and wiring. Plans are also underway to provide shade structures over benches on all 6 soft courts.

Plans to potentially raise the needed funds to redo the hard courts along with the soft courts in 2019 is also being worked on. This would be a joint effort with the city of Shreveport, Querbes Park Foundation and the tennis community through the Northwest Louisiana Community Tennis Association (CTA). This is a very time critical endeavor and we need everyone to come forward and support this effort with your financial contributions and your time.

You can do so by sending a check or by going to nwlacta.com and using PayPal. The CTA is is a 501 (c) 3 and all donations are tax deductible. Please memo QUERBES RENOVATIONS.
